Abruzzo sits in the heart of Italy, just east of Rome, separated from the capital by the Apennine mountains. That positioning makes it, quite literally, the next door to Rome—close enough to reach in a couple of hours, yet far enough to feel like a completely different world.
NEXT DOOR, FOR A REASON
Abruzzo isn’t just a destination for us, it’s personal. After years of spending time there, we realized something didn’t add up: how could a place this raw, authentic, and beautiful remain so overlooked? The idea for this project came naturally, and the name followed just as clearly, The City Next Door, because that’s exactly what Abruzzo is: right next to Rome, yet completely off the radar. This space exists for one reason: to share a place we genuinely believe deserves to be seen.
