‘Spaghetti alla Chitarra’ is a traditional dish from Abruzzo that was a classic of my childhood and teenager days back home in Venezuela. It has so many beautiful meanings to me.
It means family as we used to eat it on Sundays, the four of us together. It means quality time with my mom as I was her eager assistant whilst she will take the lead in making the dish (as you can see in the video). It means two cultures coming together (my Venezuelan mom and my Italian dad) to raise two kids with care and love. It means prideof my mixed roots, but overall it means lovein many different ways: love for my family (my inner circle and the ones living on other side of the world), my mom’s love for my dad who is always keen to learn about his customs and traditions and of course my endless love for food!
