We honestly love to explore new corners of Abruzzo and fall in love again every time we share this natural paradise with you.

Landscapes photography seems like a regular type of photography to look at, but when you can actually see the “picture” in real life, it’s just mindblowing. There’s an enormous amount of places in this region where you can just stand and feel your jaw drop, your eyes spark and your lungs open!

There’s a particular reason why Abruzzo is called the greenest region in Europe and we want to show you a sneak peek of that in this post. If you want to reconnect with nature, practice forest bathing, hike incredible mountains, meditate or just clean your body & soul, this is your place to go!

For all of those who can’t experience this at the moment, we made a shortlist with 9 landscapes pictures from Abruzzo that you have to see! Don’t forget to add these places to your bucket list (or your Pinterest!), share this beauty with your friends and vote at the end of this post for your favourite place!

1.- Montepagano

From Roseto degli Abruzzi it takes approximately 12 minutes to get to Montepagano. On the way up to the village, it’s possible to have these stunning views from which it is possible to admire the town located right on top of the hill. Once in the town, some of the spots to visit are the “Chiesa della Santissima Annunziata”, the “Porta di Santa Caterina” and because of its position, the town offers breathtaking views of the region.

2.- Rocca Calascio

The “Castello di Rocca Calascio” located at 1,460 m.a.s.l., is perhaps one of the best viewpoints of the region. Not only the castle itself and the “Chiesa di Santa Maria della Pietà” are spots to visit, but it is also worth a visit for the views you will have right at the top of the mountain.

ROCCA CALASCIO - AQUILA

3.- Costa dei Trabocchi

Some of the most beautiful towns and beaches in Abruzzo are all along the Costa dei Trabocchi. One of the best ways to explore it, is going through the “Via Verde” (a pedestrian and cycle track, not finished yet) to admire the beauty of the heart of this coast “the trabocco”, old fashioned fishing machines, still functioning. Nowadays the majority of them were turned into restaurants.

4.- Capestrano

From the “Castello Piccolomini” of Capestrano, the views are breathtaking. From the castle, it’s possible to admire the town of Capestrano and Abruzzo’s impressive shades of green.

Silvi Alta it’s also known as the “terrazza dell’adriatico” (the adriatic terrace), because of the stunning views it offers of the Adriatic coast and even at some points, it’s also possible to admire the mountainside. On one of the walls of this “belvedere” there is written: “di fronte al mare la felicità è un’idea semplice”, which means, “when you are facing the sea, happiness is a simple idea”, and it certainly is when you have this view in front of you.
